JOB DESCRIPTION.
Second Baptist School University-Model® (SBSUM) is currently seeking a PART-TIME Nurse for the 2025-2026 school year. This role serves in a variety of capacities including UM campus support and administrative support.
- Reports To: The Director of Health Services
- Work Calendar: 11 months (August - June); 3 days a week (M,W,F) or PT as needed
- Compensation: Part-Time, Hourly
JOB SUMMARY.
A Nurse at SBSUM is expected to support staff and administration on their campus, to integrate Biblical principles and a Christian philosophy of nursing throughout their campus, and to model a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ.
ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES.
Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to the following:
- Passion for school nursing in caring for students, faculty, and administration.
- Flexibility to quickly and smoothly transition from one duty to another.
- Maintains professional relationships and works cooperatively with others. .
- Follow established guidelines for interacting with students, parents, faculty and staff. ? Participate in appropriate professional activities.
- Comply with all SBSUM, Second Baptist School and Second Baptist Church policies and procedures. ? Attend all required meetings/training assigned by the Director of Health Services and the Head of School. ? Assess and treat minor injuries and illnesses.
- Administer medications and manage students’ chronic health conditions (e.g., diabetes, asthma, allergies, seizures).
- Maintain accurate health records.
- Ensure state-mandated screenings are performed and reported in a timely manner. ? Ensure state immunization requirements are met and reported in a timely manner. ? Collaborate with administration and UM Nurse Coordinator for any off-campus retreats or events, ensuring your campus medical information and preparation is complete.
- Ensure all student medical information and requirements are in compliance.
- Ensure that the campus clinic is fully equipped throughout the school year.
- Collaborate with Athletic Directors/Coordinators on campus to ensure the safety of all student athletes. ? Performs other tasks related to area of responsibilities as requested or assigned by the Director of Health Services.

- Valid Texas Board of Nursing License.
- Current BLS/CPR and First Aid certification.
- Minimum of five years of nursing experience.

DAILY TASKS.
To perform this job successfully, candidates must be willing and able to:
- Provide direct healthcare services, including first aid and emergency care for injuries and acute illnesses, according to Second Baptist School policies and procedures and CDC guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, school personnel, and healthcare professionals regarding students’ health status and needs.
- Administer medications to students according to Second Baptist School policy and physician orders.
- Clearly and accurately document assessments and medication administration.
